The Maritime Tradition From Shipyards to Tourism in the Ara Lembanna Area, Bulukumba Regency
Keywords:
Maritime Tradition, Shipyards, TourismAbstract
The researcher focuses on the transformation of maritime traditions in shipyards towards the development of the tourism industry in Ara Village, Bulukumba Regency. Historically, the Ara community was culturally dedicated solely to shipbuilding, without transitioning to professions like fishing. However, recent developments show a shift in economic focus from the shipbuilding industry to tourism. Ara Village has successfully leveraged its tourism potential by combining its natural beauty with the cultural and historical aspects of pinisi boat making. This transformation not only boosts the local economy but also preserves the rich maritime cultural heritage.
