Abstract

On October 8, 2023, a socialization event was conducted online via the Zoom platform by GEN BI South Sulawesi. The event began with an initial phase of analyzing the financial literacy needs of the younger generation. After discussions and setting goals, it was agreed to provide financial literacy materials to the participants. Topics covered included the importance of financial literacy, the benefits of financial planning, methods for financial planning, and investment instruments in Indonesia. The aim of this socialization was also to protect the public from risky investments. The results indicated a fairly high level of financial literacy among the participants, as reflected in their investment activities and financial habits such as recording expenses and income. From this event, it can be concluded that financial education is crucial for enhancing individuals' understanding and management of finances. Recommendations included increasing awareness, introducing financial education from an early age, offering inclusive training programs accessible to all groups, involving the private sector, and increasing government support.
