Abstrak

The relationship between fat content and muscle mass with Vo2 Max in football players at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences UNM. Thesis. Department of Sport Science, Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, State University of Makassar. This study aims to determine the relationship between fat content, muscle mass and maximum aerobic capacity (VO2 Max) in soccer players at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences UNM. This study used a correlational design involving 25 soccer players as research subjects. Data collection was done through measurement of fat content, muscle mass and VO2 Max testing through the Balke test. SPSS 30.00 as a data analysis testing tool includes descriptive test, normality test, hypothesis testing, using correlation test. Based on the results of statistical analysis that there is a significant relationship between fat content and VO2 Max with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.934 < 0.05, indicating that the two variables have a very strong negative relationship, meaning that the higher a person's fat content, the lower his VO2 Max and a significant relationship between muscle mass and VO2 Max with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.918 < 0.05, indicating that the two variables have a very strong positive relationship, meaning that the higher a person's muscle mass, the higher his VO2 Max value. This concludes that fat content and muscle mass have a significant relationship to maximum aerobic capacity (VO2 Max) in soccer players at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences UNM.
