DIFFERENCES IN LUNG VITAL CAPACITY BETWEEN PEOPLE WITH MODERATE EXERCISE ACTIVITY AND PEOPLE WITH LIGHT EXERCISE ACTIVITY IN PANCAITANA VILLAGE, BONE DISTRICT

Abstrak

This study aims to compare lung vital capacity between individuals with moderate exercise activity and individuals with light exercise activity in Pancaitana Village, Bone Regency. This study is a comparative study using the independent sample t-test. The research was conducted in the field of Pancaitana Village, Salomekko Subdistrict, Bone Regency, in March 2024. The research sample amounted to 30 people selected through purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a pulmonary vital capacity test with a peak flow meter. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which indicates a significant difference in lung vital capacity between individuals who are actively exercising and individuals who are not actively exercising in Pancaitana Village, Bone Regency. The average value of lung vital capacity of individuals who are actively exercising is 514.67 L/min, while individuals who are not actively exercising is 342.67 L/min. Thus, it can be concluded that the vital lung capacity of individuals who are actively exercising is better than that of individuals who are not actively exercising in Pancaitana Village, Bone Regency.
