Focus and Scope

Pinisi Physics Journal (PPJ) is a scientific journal that is peer-reviewed and published by the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Negeri Makassar. PPJ is committed to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the domain of physics through the publication of high-quality and original research.

The journal functions as a medium through which academics, researchers, and practitioners can disseminate novel findings and theoretical or applied studies in a broad array of physics-related disciplines. The journal's scope encompasses the following areas, although it is not limited to these:

  • Materials Physics
It includes nanomaterials, solid-state physics. electronic and magnetic materials, thin films, and advanced functional materials
  • Geophysics
It includes seismic exploration, geoelectrical and electromagnetic methods, geomagnetism, gravity, hydrogeophysics, and environmental geophysics.
  • Instrumentation Physics
The company is focused on developing and using scientific instruments, sensors, data collection tools, and tools based on physics.
  • Computational Physics
It focuses on using math to create models, testing out different scenarios, creating algorithms, and using machine learning and artificial intelligence in physical systems.
  • Physics of Renewable Energy
It covers the physics of solar cells, fuel cells, wind and hydropower systems, energy storage materials, and efficiency analysis in sustainable energy technologies.
  • Environmental and Atmospheric Physics
Studies how the atmosphere, climate, the environment, and radiation interact.
  • Nuclear and Radiation Physics
It includes studies on how radiation interacts with matter, nuclear measurement techniques, natural radioactivity, dosimetry, and applications in medicine, industry, and geophysics.

PPJ promotes interdisciplinary methodologies that integrate theory, experimentation, and application, with a particular emphasis on those that are pertinent to regional concerns or that contribute to addressing global scientific challenges. All submitted manuscripts are subject to a rigorous peer-review process to ensure scientific integrity and quality.
