Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to the Journal of Applied Linguistics and Literature undergo two review processes. Papers are first screened by an editor to ensure that submission guidelines have been met. If the manuscript passes the first review process, it will be assigned to a reviewer, while those that do not pass the process will be returned to the author. Each article is reviewed by two independent reviewers through a blind review process. Reviewers will evaluate the substance of the manuscript, including the originality of the research, novelty, methodology, and contribution to science. Reviewers are responsible for making decisions on article status based on the evaluation results. If reviewers disagree with each other, the editor will ask a third reviewer for their opinion. The results of the review will be sent back by the editor to the author with notes (one of the following): accepted without revision, accepted after major revision, accepted after minor revision, rejected. The review process until the final decision takes 4–8 weeks. However, the review process may take longer depending on reviewer responses and the review cycle. Manuscripts that are sent back to the Journal of Applied Linguistics and Literature after revision can be resubmitted to reviewers according to the reviewer's availability, the editor's decision, and the number of revisions to be made.
