Abstract

This study explores the Negative Self-Concept of students from Broken Home families and its interventions, focusing on a specific case at State Vocational High School 3 Soppeng. The main objectives are to understand: (1) the portrayal of negative self-concept in a student identified as PGP, (2) factors contributing to the formation of negative self-concept in PGP, and (3) interventions addressing PGP's negative self-concept. The qualitative case study approach is employed, focusing on one subject, PGP. Data collection involves interviews, observations, and documentation, with analysis through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that PGP's self-concept manifests in a negative self-perception. The primary factors contributing to negative self-concept are a lack of affection due to family conflicts post-parental divorce. Intervention for negative self-concept entails reality counseling utilizing the Want, Doing, Evaluation, and Planning (WDEP) technique across four sessions. The aim is to address the issues of negative self-concept in students from broken home families.
