Abstract

This research explores the implementation of group guidance with symbolic modeling techniques to enhance students' self-efficacy at SMP Negeri 2 Pangsid. The pretest indicates initially low levels of self-efficacy in both experimental and control groups. However, the posttest reveals a significant increase in self-efficacy within the experimental group, while the control group remains low. The guidance process involves four stages, from group formation to conclusion, emphasizing rationalization of treatment, examples, exercises, and evaluation. The study highlights the effectiveness of symbolic modeling techniques in improving students' self-efficacy. Overall, the research provides in-depth insights into the positive impact of group guidance using this technique. With a focus on Grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Pangsid, this study is relevant for the development of more effective guidance strategies to boost students' confidence
