Abstract

Education is now heavily influenced by the industrial revolution 4.0, which is marked by education making more use of digital technology. Educators who are active in schools are currently in the age of generation X and Y. A common problem that often occurs is that teachers of generation X have limitations with digital technology. However, because the responsibility as a teacher requires you to quickly adapt to changing situations and a changing work environment. This condition is referred to as readiness to change. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is an effect of Work Engagement on readiness to change in Generation X teachers. Respondents to this study were Generation X teachers who were actively working in the city of Makassar, with a total of 180 people. Data collection techniques in this study used the Work Engagement and Readiness to Change scales. The results of the ordinal regression analysis show that there is an effect of Work Engagement on Readiness to Change with a significance value of 0.000. The results of the additional analysis found that the aspects of strength and absorption had an effect on readiness to change (0.738 and 0.998) and the aspects of dedication had no effect on readiness to change (0.000). This research provides implications in the form of information to generation x teachers regarding the impact of Work Engagement on readiness to change.
