Improving Flower Pot Making Skills Through Video Tutorials for Mentally Disabled Students in Special Schools

Abstract

The problem addressed in this research is the lack of children in learning skills such as handicrafts among tenth-grade students with intellectual disabilities at Special School (Sekolah Luar Biasa - SLB) Negeri 1 Gowa. The research problem is formulated as "how does the improvement of skill in making flower pots through video tutorials impact tenth-grade students with intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri 1 Gowa." The objective is to determine the use of video tutorials in enhancing the skill of making flower pots for children with intellectual disabilities. The research adopts a quantitative approach and a descriptive research design. Data collection is performed through practical tests, and the analysis technique involves quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results indicate that the skill level in making flower pots before the use of video tutorials among children with intellectual disabilities was categorized as very low. However, after the implementation of video tutorials, their skill level improved to the competent category. In conclusion, the use of video tutorials can enhance the skill of making flower pots for tenth-grade students with intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri 1 Gowa.
