Abstract

This research aims to explore the popularity of anime among Generation Z. Through the analysis of anime-watching behavior, this study will identify patterns in the anime-watching habits of Generation Z, including frequency of viewing and preferred genres. Additionally, it will discuss the influence of watching anime on perceptions of Japanese culture, examining the extent to which anime accurately reflects Japanese culture and how this affects the perceptions of Generation Z towards that culture. Finally, this research will analyze the impact of watching anime on the nationalism of Generation Z towards Indonesian culture and identity, exploring whether watching anime can influence their sense of nationalism towards local culture. Thus, this study will provide a deeper understanding of the relationship between watching anime and the cultural perceptions and identities of Generation Z.
